The secret of change is to focus all your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new.
So when people ask me how life in Lagos Nigeria is treating me, I almost never have a good response. “Its been brutal” and “Really hot, like burning hot”, “I don’t wanna be here” “things are so expensive” “public transportation sucks” and more.. Is really all I’ve had to say about being back home. Although this is all very true, because its my experience so far, I started to think “what if its brutal because I constantly admit it to be?” There’s a quote that says:
Our bodies can withstand just anything, its our minds that need convincing.
Lagos is SUPER CROWDED but I can change my mindset. Not that I’d have to lie about what the real situation is, not to convince anyone otherwise. I’m changing my mindset for my own Sanity. For my own peace of mind. I really want to tell you all the funny things I’ve seen in my 6weeks of being back but this post would be so long and you might not read till the end. Instead, I want to encourage you, in whatever situation or place you find yourself, talk to God about it and ask Him to give you the strength and character to fit into your new environment and to learn all the lessons that He would have you learn.
Change is the only constant thing
